Nineteen years old. Two nationalities. One mission.
The Journey
From Breda
to the GT grid
Hjelte Hoffner was born in Breda in 2006, Dutch by birth, Danish by heritage. The two-flag emblem he races under isn't decoration; it's identity and an international outlook.
His climb began with MDM Motorsport, one of the Netherlands' premier GT teams. In only his second year he stormed to the top of the BMW M240i Cup, winning nine of twelve races in 2024 and setting a record for the largest title margin in the championship's history. That same season he swept the Dutch Racing Trophy and took back-to-back wins in eight-hour endurance races at Zandvoort.
In 2025 he stepped onto the international stage: a Porsche Scholarship, a rookie season in the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia, guest drives in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup on the Formula 1 support bill and endurance racing across Europe including the 24H Series at Mugello. He sharpens his craft in the Porsche 992 GT3 Cup with guidance from experienced names, Tom Coronel, Dennis and Mark Bus, with Larry ten Voorde coaching him in the simulator and on track.
This is his profession. The week is built around testing, training, travel and debriefs. The race weekend is what all of it points at.

02, Track Record
The record
so far
03, Off Track
More than
the weekend
Racing is full time. The weeks between rounds carry as much of the work as the race weekends do.
Professional GT racing
A full season of one-make competition across Europe's most demanding circuits.
Race coaching
Passing on craft and race-craft to the next generation of drivers.
Simulator work
Learning circuits in the sim before ever setting foot on them, and arriving already knowing the braking zones.
Coaching sharpens what he knows. The simulator buys him laps he would otherwise never get. Both feed the same thing.
04, The Make-Up
Built on
five fronts
A modern racing driver isn't made by lap time alone. Hjelte is developed across every front that decides a career, on the track and far beyond it.
Telemetry reviews, setup work and simulator hours with MDM's engineers, turning data into lap time race by race.
A year-round conditioning programme: the strength, neck and heat tolerance a full GT season demands.
Composure under pressure, from a record title margin to back-to-back eight-hour endurance races.
Articulate with media, sponsors and partners, equally at home in a cockpit and a boardroom.
A network of mentors, Coronel, the Bus brothers, coach Larry ten Voorde and a board of entrepreneurs behind the climb.
An illustrative development profile, the shape of the work behind the results.

06, The MDM Method
Performance.
Precision.
Partnership.
What makes MDM Motorsport a standout in European GT racing, a relentless commitment to excellence, on the track and in the garage.
Together with MDM's engineers, coaches and data analysts, Hjelte works race by race to optimise performance. Tyre strategies, telemetry reviews, balance setups, nothing is left to chance. In a world where milliseconds matter, the trust between Hjelte and the crew is unshakable. They don't just aim for speed; they aim for perfection.
MDM didn't just give me a seat. They gave me a system that lets me push beyond the limit.Hjelte Hoffner
