How Hjelte Racing handles the personal data of visitors to this website.

Who we are
This website, hjelteracing.com, is operated by Hjelte Racing. The controller of your personal data is 4H Holding BV, Molenstraat 101, Oosterhout, the Netherlands, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 20127307.
For any question about this privacy statement or about your data, contact us at info@hjelteracing.com or on +31 6 15390834.
What we collect
We collect only the data you choose to give us. When you use the contact form, we receive the name, email address, telephone number and message you submit.
Our hosting provider may also process standard technical data, such as your IP address and browser type, as a normal part of serving the website securely.
If you tick the newsletter box on the contact form, we also keep your email address and first name for that purpose. You will first receive a confirmation email; only after you click the link in it are you actually added.
If you allow analytics in the cookie banner, we also record how the site is used: pages viewed, links and buttons clicked, how far down a page you read and whether the contact form was sent. Of the form itself only the chosen subject is recorded, never what you wrote.
Why we use it
We use the information from the contact form solely to respond to your enquiry, whether that concerns a partnership, media, a track day or a general question. We do not use it for unrelated marketing and we do not sell it.
Analytics are used to understand which parts of the site are useful and which are not, so we can improve them. Nothing is measured until you consent and you can withdraw that consent at any time through the cookie settings.
Our legal basis
We process personal data on one or more of the following grounds. Consent, for the analytics you allow in the cookie banner and for the newsletter if you ask for it. Contractual necessity, when we answer an enquiry you sent us. Legitimate interest, to keep the website secure and working. And legal obligation, where the law requires us to keep something.
Answering your enquiry does not run on consent, which is why the contact form asks you to confirm that you have read this statement rather than to agree to it. The newsletter is the other way round: that is consent, it is a separate tick and it is off unless you turn it on.
Who can see it
Your data is shared only with the service providers needed to operate the website and respond to you. We do not share it with third parties for their own purposes and we do not sell it.
Those providers are Vercel, which hosts the website; Brevo, which delivers the message from the contact form; Microsoft, whose mailbox we use to reply to you; PostHog, which processes analytics on European servers; and CookieYes, which records your cookie choice.
The website links to Instagram, YouTube and Twitch, but embeds nothing from them. Those platforms only receive data about you if you click through to them yourself.
Where your data is processed
We aim to keep all data within the European Union. The analytics and hosting we use are set up that way. Where a provider processes data outside the EU, we rely on the safeguards the GDPR requires, such as standard contractual clauses.
How we protect it
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, disclosure, loss or destruction. The website is served over an encrypted connection and access to the systems behind it is limited to the people who need it.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry data only as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up, after which it is deleted.
Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link and one click is enough.
Your rights
You have the right to ask what data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we process it and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email info@hjelteracing.com.
If you believe we are handling your data wrongly and we cannot resolve it together, you have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
The Ambassadors Club
The Ambassadors Club portal at ambassadors.hjelteracing.com is a separate, members-only environment with its own access and data handling. This statement covers the public website only.
